What is the best cat food?

Ok, I have heard both sides. Dry food is bad because kittens do not get enough nutrients and wet food is bad because it can make them build up tarter and make their gums and teeth weak. I can't afford to buy Innova/Evo. It's organic food and therefore, my cat would be eating better than me! lol! Can anyone shed some light on this? I am getting a ragdoll kitten on saturday. I would appreciate any information you can give me.
