Was Paula Abdul a good singer to you?

I can't really tell. As a child i listened to her cettes that i played in my walkman, I was maybe 8 or 9 back in the 80's when she sang. I always liked her songs but she really sounds tone deaf. Is it just me or do y'all hear it to. She's a great entertainer and i was a huge fan of hers but is she as tone deaf as i heard or is it just me?
