Vet Tech Program Accreditation Questions?

You probably wouldn't be able to get a job until you were licensed. Even if you are grandfathered in, accreditation can take many years. An accredited on-line program is a better bet than a non-accredited on-site program. You would be able to sit for the exam with an on-line program and that is what is most important. Most accredited on-line programs also operate programs at real on-site locations so just stay away from Penn Foster and other for-profit programs who tend to be more expensive even if they are accredited. Purdue is a good on-line option. All accredited on-line programs do require you find a mentor veterinarian or technician (or both) to ist you with learning the clinical aspects of the job. Before committing to an on-line program you should ask around at various clinics to see if this would be an option because if you can't find a mentor then you shouldn't bother with enrolling.
