I found a small burned pebble setting in a surned spot on the lawn. Could this me a metorite?

At first I thought this was a small peice of charcol but was too heavy. I broke the pebble open and it is a greyish rock that show some well defined crystal structure. To my knowledge there has been nothin on fire in proximity to where I found the pebble
